Dr. Vasireddy Ramesh Babu belongs to Kothagudem is well known for organising the Balotsav Cultural Programmes in district, state and national level and got appreciated by parents and students as well. The Balostav Convenor, maintaining cordial relations with the public, now serves as doctor and works with avoluntary organisations in Kothagudem.
Lion M. V. Chowdary, the owner of Vivekavardini educational institutes, lends his helping hand financially to the poor students to pursue higher education. By establishing educational institutions, he has been providing education to many students in Kothagudem. Besides, he is also an active member in Lions Club.
Orthopedist Vijendra Rao has also been serving as the Governor of Rotary Club. He started a Limb Centre in Writer Basti and distributing artificial organs and tri-cycles to the physically challenged people.

Important projects,Institutions

Government owned Singareni Collieries, KTPS, NMDC and GKOC are located in the constituency. The headquarter of the Singareni Collieries Company is located in Kothagudem. KTPS, the biggest thermal power station in Telangana is generating 1720 MW power every day and supplying it to the cement factories located in other states. Sponge Iron Plant, North India's first iron factory, is located in Palwancha. In 2010, Navaratna Company has merged the plant into NMDC, which is now being considered to develop.

Established to generate power, the Kinnerasani Project later developed to supply irrigation and drinking water in the constituency. Singabhupalem Project in Sujatha Nagar, Rallavagu Project in Palwancha are a few worth mentioning projects in the constituency.

Ongoing Programmes

MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao has been doing development works under Mission Kakatiya programme. Kinnerasani drinking water project and Singabhupalem works are underway. Road expansion works are also in progress in the constituency. Knowledge centre for farmers, skill development centre for unemployed youth, Forest Central Park, Govt English Medium School and IR Battalion have been constructed. Proposals to construct airport and mining university have been sent to the government. In terms of development, Kothagudem is shining in all categories.

Pending issues

The restoration works of Mailaram Copper mines are still incomplete and the airport construction is limited to the proposals only. The proposal of the allocation of Mining University is limited to papers only. Kinnerasani project development works are underway. The NH road works and double bedroom works are still needed to be completed. MLA has been meeting the respective officers and assured that all the works will be finished very soon.

Historical Buddha Stupas at Karunkonda Ramavaram in Hemachandrapuram, Lord Balaji temple in Palwancha, temples in Bangarujala, historical monuments in old Palwancha. Kinnerasani project and Nava Bharat Ferro Alloys are a few famous places located in the constituency.

Interesting Points

Industrially, Kothagudem is shining well. KTPS is the renowned power plant that provides electricity to the state. The constituency is the home ground for the revolutionary parties and well known for sending many aspirants to assembly and parliament.
