Bethampudi Project (Tekulapalli mandal), Thularam Project (Bayyaram mandal), Bayyaram Tank (Bayyaram mandal), Singareni Collieries coal mines (Yellandu), Barytes ores in Garla mandal, iron ores in Bayyaram and huge amount of coal ores exist in Yellandu, Tekulapalli mandals. Tiles factories are more in Yellandu.

Ongoing Programmes

Mission Bhagiratha project works, construction of roads and double-bedroom houses and canal development works are going on in the constituency. In the meantime, District Mineral Foundation funds have been released to finish off the works like roads construction in Yellandu and Tekulapalli mandal, central lighting, community halls and parks. Alongside, Singareni Collieries Company has sanctioned funds to modernise the central lighting works and for the restoration of road dividers in the constituency.

Pending issues

Establishment of steel plant, the long term wish of Bayyaram villagers, still remains a dream for five decades. Construction of bus depot and restoration of passenger train facility in Yellandu are need to be solved. Munneru Project (Garla) works are underway since long time. The repair works of Bayyaram Tank, Tularam Project and Bethampudi Project canals need to be commenced. And a vegetable market in Yellandu has to be constructed.

Important places

Inscriptions of Kakatiyas in Bayyaram, Veta Venkateswara Swami temple in Garla, Singareni coal mines and Seven-well waterfalls in Bayyaram mandal are a few important places to visit in the constituency.

Interesting Points

Formed in 1952, Yellandu constituency has witnessed Assembly elections for 14 times. Reserved for General until 1972, Yellandu has been reserved for tribals since 1978. Yellandu is a two-member constituency in 1952 and 1957. So far, Naxalite parties won for 6 times, Congress - 4 times, CPI -2 times and TDP - 1 time. Despite reserved for tribals, the votes of non-tribals decides the elections result. Yellandu was divided and its mandals have been a part of 3 districts. Garla and Bayyaram mandal belongs to Mahbubabad, Yellandu and Tekulapalli mandals falls under Bhadradri Kothagudem and Kamepalli mandal in Khammam.
