Ongoing Programmes

Several development projects is being taken up in the constituency. For instance, upgradation and widening of several internal roads of this constituency is proceeding at a faster pace. Similarly, laying of pipelines under Mission Bhaghiratha project, contruction of double bedroom houses and for the poor, construction of public toilets, School buildings. construction of various bridges is also being done at considerable pace.

Pending issues

Though the constituency was formed a long time ago, several administrative structures like district and sub division offices, STO, RTO, sub-registrar offices have not come up yet which is causing hurdles to the local residents. Lack of bus transport facility to connect different region within the constituency is making commuting a painful and difficult for the residents. other issues like lack of adequate drainage and sewer facilities.
 
Of late, the issue of NH 44 has become a major issue in the constituency. people from different walks of life and political leaders from different parties setting aside their differences have joined hands demanding that NH 44 should include roads in Ashwaraopeta. This demand has turned into a emotional issue for the people of this constituency and may have considerable effect on the outcome of coming elections. Other interesting aspect is that Elites of Telangana and AP have properties in this constituency.

Ashwaraopeta mandal is home to many notable places of worship like Gubbala Mangamma temple, Chilakagandi Muthayalamma temple and Vasavi Kanyaka Parmeshwari temple etc. the constitution also encompasses important institutions like Agricultural college, a sprawling coconut seed garden, Horticultural research station, several private horticultural nurseries, sericulture nurseries. the mandal also boasts of palmoil plantations and cashwet nut cultivation is being taken up in 1600 acres by forest department.
In Dammapet mandal, several temples like Kasivisweshwara temple, Santana gopala swami temple, Lakshminarayana swami temple in Nagupalli, Gandikinda Muthyalamma temple large number of devotees from various places. Another important place of worship is balaji and shiva temples in Annapureddypally.

Interesting Points

Gandugulapalli of this constituency, which is hometown of the minister Tummala Nageswara Rao is focal point of all political developments in the constituency. This constituency has also seen some social unrest because of land disputes related to Act 1/70, and those related to podu cultivation. Other interesting aspect of this constituency is that mandals of Ashwaraopet and Dammapet comprises a lion's share of total horticultural produce in Telangana owing to the presence of large number of horticulture nurseries. This constituency borders AP and so has seen considerable migration of people from the neighbouring state. one sees a mix of AP and telangana culture and tradition in this constituency.
