R. Krishnaiah is the voice of backward classes in both Telugu speaking states. He championed the issues related to different communities in backward classes. Belonging to Rallagudupalli (V), Mominpert (M), Ranga Reddy district, Krishnaiah pursued MA, LLM and M.Phil from OU. Being a farmer professionally, Krishnaiah initially joined in Rastriya Swayam Sevak Sangh. Public issues pending in the constituency drove jump into political arena and made him participate in the movements. He is still fighting for the rights of BCs. He is the founder president of B.C. Welfare Association. R. Krishnaiah also served as the president of students association in OU PG and LAW colleges. During the period 1975-1976, he was the president of hostel students‘ association in twin cities and in 1977, as the state chairman of SC, ST, BC hostel students committee, he fought for new hostels, BC scholarships, hostel mess charges and others. From 1977 to 1994, he also served for 6 times as the state joint action committee chairman of PDSU, RSU, AISF, DSO and SFI. And he also participated in many movements for unemployed. In 1978, he established the BC Student Society. Like this, he has participated in many movements regarding BCs and students. He also rejected the opportunity to enter Rajya Sabha. With the changes in politics. TDP fielded him in 2014 elections from L.B. Nagar and won as an MLA.
