He started his political career as BJP activist in 1980 and in 2002 he got elected as corporator of Barkatpura. In 2014, he contested as BJP candidate from Malakpet constituency and won as the BJP party's city president. He is appointed as the vice-chairman of National Child Welfare and is the co-ordinator of BJP state election commission.
