Political background: Mr. Nageswara Rao hailed from agriculture family, but joined as contract worker in Kothagudem Thermal Power Station. He launched Madhucon Group of Industries in the year 1982 and took up many projects including national highways, buildings, huge constructions within the country and also in several palces in the world. For the first time he contested as MP from Khammam in the year 2004, but lost to Renuka Chowdary. However, he wrested the seat from her in 2009 elections. He became leader of TDP Parliamentary Party and played key role in the party as well as in united Andhra Pradesh. He lost 2014 elections and continuing as Politburo member of TDP.
 Relations: Former MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao is co-brother of Mr. Nama Nageswara Rao and also some relatives in Koyambattur are also in Congress party.
Development activities: He started Nama Muthaiah Trust, in memory of his father and arranged number of health camps, drinking water facility to Lambada tandas, where ST population is more and spent his MP Lads on roads, electricity and education. He played key role cancellation of lease of Bayyaram iron ore mines.

Mr. Nama is most accessible leader in the constituency and he took up cycle yatras and other programmes to reach out his party workers and public. He lost with narrow margin in 2014 elections, for which he has to loose the opportunity to become a minister in NDA government as he played key role in TDP-BJP alliance during 2014 elections. He interfered in Assembly ticket distribution to get ticket for his follower Maddineni Swarna Kumari, which irked former MLA and TDP senior leader Tummala Nageswara Rao. Apart from this, CPI national secretary Dr. Narayana contested in alliance with Congress from this constituency which led to Nama's debacle.
